About this file

This is Addendum #2 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) 24-11021-000 issued by the California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) - Atascadero for Medication Dispensing Unit Installation. The project involves preparing medical rooms across multiple buildings to replace existing medication dispensing units, including installation of new anchor plates, casework and fixture removal, patch and paint, electrical outlet and data jack extensions, and fire-stopping at penetrations. The work covers 51 units across buildings 24, 508A-523, and 972, with a mix of single and double installations. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with project completion expected by year-end 2025. The medical rooms will be unoccupied during construction, though conduit runs may pass through occupied areas.

The bid form includes unit pricing for each location plus a fixed $40,000 unforeseen allowance that includes taxes. DSH-A will provide flooring materials and handle cabinet rework through Hospital Maintenance Personnel, while the contractor is responsible for demolition and removal. The contractor must move base plates and cabinets from central storage to installation locations, though final cabinet installation will be done by others. Work is limited to two locations at once with two escorts provided. A dust containment system is required, and contractors may store tools onsite in secured areas at DPS discretion. Third-party inspections will be handled by DGS CIMB Services and DSFM. No additional permits beyond listed OSFM permits are required.
