About this file

This is Addendum #1 to the Riley Track Resurfacing Project bid documents issued by the City of Peachtree City, Georgia. The project involves the complete resurfacing of Riley Track, including removal and disposal of existing rubber surfaces and asphalt, installation of new asphalt paving, installation of synthetic track surfacing, and restriping of the oval track as well as high jump and long jump event areas. The work scope encompasses approximately 4,514 square yards of rubber surface removal and replacement, 4,514 square yards of asphalt surface removal, 530 cubic yards of gravel and subgrade material removal, 530 cubic yards of granular aggregate base installation, 506 tons of asphalt paving, and lump sum amounts for general conditions, mobilization, proof-rolling, and striping. The bid deadline was Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm, with bids remaining subject to acceptance for 60 calendar days following the opening. An asphalt coring report dated May 27, 2022 documented existing pavement conditions, indicating asphalt thickness of approximately 2 inches across multiple core samples.

The addendum addresses four key bidder questions and provides clarifications on material substitutions, field marking requirements, pavement specifications, and curbing options. The City Engineer rejected a proposed substitution of Plexitrac Lightning and Plexitrac Accelerator materials. Field markings shall remain as currently configured rather than being relined to International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) competition standards. The City amended the bid form to allow pricing for interior curbing only or interior and exterior curbing, with the final selection to be made based on submitted pricing. The amended bid form includes a base bid with ten line items and three alternate surface material options: single component polyurethane structural spray-on base mat, two component polyurethane structural spray-on base mat, and a sandwich system with squeegeed polyurethane coating and broadcast rubber granules. Contractors requesting additional days beyond the included inclement weather allowance must submit temperature constraint documentation, with reasonable requests resulting in change order extensions to the substantial completion date.

CITY OF PEACHTREE CITY

RILEY TRACK RESURFACING

ADDENDUM #1

1. QUESTION: Would the city consider allowing the use of Plexitrac Lightning and Plexitrac Accelerator? RESPONSE: Based on the City Engineer’s review of the submitted documentation, this substitution will not be approved.

2. QUESTION: Clarify field marking requirements. RESPONSE: See page 243, track shall be relined as it is currently. (Relining it to IAAF competition standards may be overkill.)

3. QUESTION: Is there a dimension on the asphalt core? Is there a core sample of aggregate?

RESPONSE: The asphalt is approximately 2 inches thick. Please see attached coring report. No aggregate base thickness was reported.

4. QUESTION: Is the city interested in interior or exterior curbing? RESPONSE: The city is amending the Bid Form to allow pricing. The decision to make this change will be made based on pricing.

5. CLARIFICATION: The city included days for inclement weather. Understanding the temperature constraints of the materials, contractor would need to submit documentation supporting any requests for additional days. If reasonable, the expectation is for the city to issue a change order extending the substantial completion date.
