About this file
This Addendum No. 1 is issued by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Procurement and Contracts for Invitation for Bid (IFB) #11A4379 concerning Emergency Generator Service and Repair in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The project requires contractors to provide routine and non-routine maintenance and repair services for 12 stationary generators located at 11 sites across the two counties, as well as ownership, maintenance, and readiness of three 150-kilowatt 480-volt portable generators for emergency deployment. Routine services shall be performed during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding State holidays, while non-routine services must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at times specified by the Caltrans Contract Manager. The written question submittal deadline was March 5, 2026, with the final bid submission deadline extended to March 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by bid opening at 2:30 p.m. the same day. The estimated award date is April 1, 2026, with contract commencement on April 1, 2026, or upon Caltrans approval, whichever is later, and expiration on March 30, 2029.
No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent contractor details, or funding sources are disclosed in this addendum. The addendum indicates that the previous solicitation did not receive the minimum number of responsive and responsible bids required to proceed with an award, prompting this new posting. Information regarding current or past contracts, including previous contract numbers, awarded contractors, and total contract award amounts, must be requested through the California Public Records Act (CPRA). The portable generators referenced in the bid proposal were last deployed for emergency use approximately six to seven years ago. All other terms and conditions from the original IFB remain in full force and effect.
