About this file

This is Addendum 1 to Request for Proposals GMU-KS0601-26 issued by George Mason University's Purchasing Department for snow removal services across multiple campuses and facilities. The RFP was originally issued June 4, 2026, with proposals due July 7, 2026, by 2:00 PM ET via Bonfire submission. The addendum, dated June 26, 2026, incorporates revised Attachment G maps for Fairfax Campus and SciTech Snow Removal Areas based on site visits conducted June 15-16, 2026. An optional pre-proposal conference was held June 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at SUB1 Building, followed by site visits at Fairfax Campus from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on June 15 and at SciTech Campus from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on June 16. The snow removal services cover six locations: Fairfax Campus, Prince William (SciTech) Campus, Potomac Science Center in Woodbridge, Point of View facility in Lorton, Arlington Campus, and Smithsonian Mason School of Conservation in Front Royal. Snow removal services include parking decks, sidewalks, patios, walkways, footbridges, parking garage rooftops and steps, and specialized areas with pavers and rubber surfaces.

The addendum addresses 37 vendor questions that clarify scope and requirements, which must be incorporated into proposals. Key clarifications include that no predetermined trigger depth is required; vendors must be on-site and ready to respond per event; access cards will be provided to parking garage rooftops; designated staging areas will be identified and coordinated; poly cutting blades or hand work is required for specialized surfaces including rubber sidewalks and pavers; no urea-based chemical products may be used; parking garages, all footbridges, patios, wooded walking paths, and perimeter sidewalks must be cleared; and vendors will be given contact information for on-site personnel coordination. Vendors may submit proposals for any single campus or facility listed in Attachment D but must offer on the entirety of selected campus locations and may not submit partial bids for portions of a campus. Future scope changes will be addressed through contract modification procedures with negotiated pricing adjustments.
