About this file
This is Addendum #1 to the bidding and contract documents for the Genesee Career Institute Pavement Replacement Phase 2 Project issued by the Genesee Intermediate School District in Michigan on March 17, 2026. The addendum incorporates clarifications and additions to the original construction plans and specifications, including modifications to site grading in two locations to improve drainage toward the roadside ditch near Torrey Road and south of the entrance drive, and direction to stockpile asphalt millings on site in the vicinity of the salt barn. A pre-bid meeting was held with an attendee sign-in sheet and minutes included with the addendum. Bidders submitted eight questions addressing technical specifications for fiber optic cable, conduit routing for camera data, camera accessories and mounting requirements, Quazite box installation specifications and load ratings, and responsibility for camera aiming and adjustment. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on Article 5.03.A of the bid form (Exhibit D - Schedule of Unit Prices) to be considered for award.
Key clarifications provided include specifications for indoor/outdoor rated fiber cable termination into the building rather than to an external Quazite box, confirmation that the Owner will supply cameras and mounting brackets with a small network switch at the pole to convert fiber to CAT6/PoE connectivity, and responsibility for the installing vendor to coordinate with the local IT Team for camera positioning. Quazite boxes must be Tier 15 heavy duty units with a 15,000-pound load rating, placed on a minimum of six inches of crushed rock with backfill of native clean non-organic material, crushed rock, or gravel compacted to 95 percent in six to eight-inch-thick layers. Addenda will be issued via email unless only a fax number was provided upon purchase of bidding documents, and page number references in the meeting minutes will be offset by eight pages for bid documents purchased after the addendum date.

Genesee Intermediate School District March 17, 2026
The following clarifications and additions are to be incorporated into the construction plans, bidding and contract documents:
1. The minutes from the pre-bid meeting and sign-in sheet are included with this addendum. Please note:
• Addenda shall be issued via email unless only a fax number is provided upon purchase of bidding documents.
• Contractor questions and Owner responses are included in the minutes. There are questions and responses regarding asphalt binder type, and light pole base disposal.
• With the addition of this addendum, and bid documents purchased after the date of the addendum will offset the page numbers referenced on the meeting minutes by 8 pages.
2. Added notes regarding re-grading two areas on the site to drain to the roadside ditch. One location is by the main sign near Torrey Road. The other location is the area south of the entrance drive. See revised sheet 7 of the plans.
3. Added note regarding keeping asphalt millings on site and stockpiling them in the vicinity of the salt barn. See note #9 under the “Removal Notes” on revised sheet 7 of the plans.
The following is a list of questions submitted by bidders, with answers following.
4. Do you have a specification for the 6 strand single mode fiber?
Answer: There is no specification. The fiber shall be indoor/outdoor rated fiber cable per keynote #6 on sheet EPS.10.
5. Drawing EPS.10 shows a 3" conduit with a pull string from the building to the Quazite box for camera data. Is this correct? Or should the fiber runs be extended into the building?
Answer: Fiber should be terminated into the building.
6. What accessories will be provided with the Owner supplied cameras?
A. Are mounting brackets provided?
Answer: Yes
B. Do the cameras accept direct fiber connection?
Answer: No, Owner will use a small network switch at the pole to convert to CAT6/PoE.
C. Will pole mounted cameras require pole mounted junction boxes to house power converters (120vac-24v)?
Answer: Yes, we will need power for the small network switch.
D. Who is responsible for aiming and adjusting camera views?
Answer: Installing vendor will work with local IT Team remotely to aim cameras.
7. Do Quazite boxes require any specific back fill?
Answer: The Quazite boxes shall be placed on top of a minimum of 6 inches of crushed rock. Backfill on sides can be native clean non-organic material, crushed rock, or gravel manually tamped in 6- to 8-inch-thick layers to 95 percent compaction.
8. Do Quazite boxes require a specific load rating?
Answer: The Quazite boxes shall be Tier 15 heavy duty, which have a load rating of 15,000 pounds.
Each bidder must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on Article 5.03.A on page 3 of the bid form (Exhibit D – Schedule of Unit Prices).
