About this file

This document is Addendum 1 for a Brevard County Purchasing Services bid (B-8-25-31) for Supplemental Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) / Drone Pesticide Application, dated April 24, 2025. The bid is for drone-based pesticide application services, with the bid opening scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 9:00 am. The Mosquito Control Department will determine the pesticide type, application location, and timing, and will provide the necessary pesticide materials to the contractor. The contractor is required to provide all labor, services, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies needed to perform the services.

The addendum clarifies two key points from potential bidders: first, that the county will not provide a lift truck, so contractors must include any necessary lift truck costs in their pricing; and second, there is no requirement to specify the number of drone teams, as pricing will be based on pesticide applied per acre or a minimum daily rate. The contractor has the flexibility to determine the number of personnel or teams needed to meet the county's specified timing and requirements. All other terms and conditions of the original bid remain unchanged.

Supplemental Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) / Drone Pesticide Application

B-8-25-31 April 24, 2025 Addendum 1

TO ALL PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS

This is an Addendum to and shall be considered as part of the original bid package for the above-mentioned bid. Please acknowledge receipt of Addendum 1 in space provided on Price Sheet. Bidders are requested to acknowledge receipt of this addendum with their bid.

CLARIFICATION TO QUESTIONS ASKED RECEIVED:

1. Question: Will Brevard Co provide a lift truck when needed? If not, then we need to add lift truck pricing.

Response: No. A lift truck will not be provided by the County. If required or necessary to perform the services, lift truck cost shall be included in the contractor’s pricing.

2. Question: Does the agreement need language defining whether the awarded company will need to provide more than one drone team at any time?

Response: No. Since the price is determined by pesticide applied per acre, or by the minimum daily rate, as indicated on the price sheet, language is not required to specify the number of personnel or teams. The contractor shall determine the number of personnel or teams required or necessary to perform the services according to the timing specified by the County.

*Note: According to the Scope of Work:

“The Mosquito Control Department will decide on the pesticide type, application location, and timing, and they will also provide the necessary pesticide materials to the contractor. The Contractor shall provide all labor, services, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies required or necessary to perform the services. The Contractor shall determine the method, details, and means of doing the work consistent with the location and instructions provided by the Mosquito Control Department.”

Please note that the bid opening date and time remains Tuesday, April 29, 2025 @ 9:00 am.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Sincerely, Mary Bowers Purchasing Manager
