About this file
This document is an addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCC) for the procurement of 10,000 folding event chairs. The IFB provides clarifications and additional requirements, including that the chairs must be 18"x18" in size, able to support a minimum weight capacity of 400 lbs, and delivered to a loading dock with a forklift and crew available for unloading. Subcontracting is allowed, and the GWCC will place a one-time order for all 10,000 chairs, with deliveries acceptable through the fall. Samples of the chairs can be submitted directly by the manufacturer for consideration.
The addendum specifies that pricing will be weighted 60% in the bid evaluation, and that bidders unable to meet the 400 lb weight capacity requirement will be penalized. The GWCC has no known American testing standards for commercial folding chairs and is relying on typical weight capacity ranges for steel folding chairs. The incumbent's previous contract award amount was not publicly posted due to the low quantity ordered.

Addendum 1 is hereby issued to incorporate the following as requirements of the Invitation for Bid, 050824MM:
1. I am having a hard time finding a folding chair 19 x19. I do have 18 x18. Can this work for you? Yes, 18”x18” is okay.
2. Is there a loading dock or fork lift available at the delivery location? Yes, delivery will be to a loading dock and we will have a forklift and crew to unload the trailer.
3. Is subcontracting allowed? Yes
4. Is there a receiving dock that can be utilized by our installers to unload and distribute the chairs? Reference question number 2
5. Will we be required to unbox and setup the chairs, or will the chairs remain folded and placed on existing racks? We will unload the trailer and boxes and do not need for this to be provided.
6. Who was the incumbent and what was the award amount? Previous procurement wasn’t posted as an RFQ due to low quantity ordered.
7. Can we the manufacturer send you directly a sample chair in lieu of the dealers?
Yes
8. Should we send the sample chairs to the same address listed for the bid? Yes, please make sure to reference the bid number and company name on the shipping label and packing list.
9. Will my installers be required to carry the chairs up any flights of stairs or will everything be setup on the same floor? Reference question number 2.
10. If my efforts fail, and the chair is to arrive after the bid opening, will that fully disqualify Virco from consideration if all other paperwork is in order and not changed after submission of the packet? As a bid requirement, the chairs must arrive by the due date.
11. Will the request for all 10,000 constitute a complete order? Yes
12. Will GWCC order them over the course of a set period of time? No, GWCC will place a one-time order for all 10,000 chairs.

17. What does inside-delivery consist of? Unboxing and storing or unboxing and placing? Reference question number 2

24. How will the 60% weighting in the bid evaluation be affected for a company who is unable to offer a weight rating but is confident in their products ability to perform, such as ourselves, versus a company who submits a product that they say will be able to hold 400lbs of weight, but might not be able to? Will we be penalized for that? As a requirement of the specifications the minimum weight capacity has to be 400 lbs. Yes
