About this file

This addendum to bid documents addresses inquiries from prospective bidders for the Marvin Ridge High School Roof Renovation Project (Bid Number 6-97648063) issued by Union County Public Schools in Waxhaw, North Carolina. The addendum clarifies specifications and scope details for the comprehensive roof renovation, including EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) crack repairs estimated at up to 500 linear feet and full-depth repairs limited to areas where minimum flashing height cannot be achieved, at parapet wall intersections, and at hood vent locations. The document confirms that EIFS acrylic topcoat materials and manufacturers are specified in Section 072400 of the specifications and remain at the contractor's discretion. Split-face block coating is clarified to be limited to roof area 01.20 only, contrary to broader first-floor coverage shown in some elevation drawings. Sealant replacement for perimeter windows is specified as required only at accessible second-floor windows on low-slope roof areas, and through-wall flashing is not required at steel angle installations under masonry walls where a reglet detail is provided instead. The addendum confirms that drawing scales are correct on the 24x36 set distributed after the pre-bid meeting held on April 30, 2026.

The addendum became part of the binding bid documents for the project with a sealed bid submission deadline of May 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the UCPS Facilities Department. All terms, conditions, specifications, and requirements of the original bid documents remain unchanged except as specifically clarified in this addendum. The document was prepared by Wolf Trail Engineering (NC P-1817, SC 5872) and issued on May 14, 2026, providing bidders with standardized material specifications and scope clarifications necessary for comparable and accurate pricing of the renovation work.
