About this file
This is Addendum 1 to Request for Proposal DPAC 21-02, issued by the City of Duluth's Public Arts Commission in Georgia on December 2, 2021. The addendum provides clarifications and answers to questions submitted during the open question-and-answer period for the Rogers Bridge Repurposing History into Public Art project. Key project details include the development of unique public art using salvage materials from the historic Rogers Bridge, with proposals due by January 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. EST. The addendum confirms that the art piece location will not be impacted by overhead telecom lines, as they will be relocated underground. Artists may propose up to three pieces, with design and finish specifications, including paint treatment or rust patina, left to the artist's discretion. Specific I-beam specifications are provided, including weights per foot for different beam sizes: C 7 beams weigh 9.8 lbs/ft, S 7 beams weigh 15 lbs/ft, and S 15 beams weigh 39 lbs/ft. The addendum confirms that no additional in-person site visits beyond the November 17, 2021 pre-proposal meeting will be scheduled, though photographs are available on the project website.
The addendum clarifies that the large water pipe formerly on the bridge has been completely removed from the job site and hauled offsite to the Fulton County Water Department, with no materials remaining for artist use. All future questions should be directed to DPAC@duluthga.net, and the City may issue a second addendum if pressing questions are received prior to the proposal submission deadline. No pricing terms, set-asides, funding amounts, or contract duration information is addressed in this addendum.

RFP# DPAC 21-02
The following questions/clarifications were received during the open Q&A period:
• Will the location of the art piece change from what was shown in the master plan?
o No, the overhead telecom lines will ultimately be moved underground so the viewshed of the art piece will not be impacted by them.
• What are the weights per foot of the I-beams?
The beams listed as “C 7” above are 7” deep and weigh 9.8 lbs/ft The beams listed as “S 7” above are 7” deep and weigh 15 lbs/ft The beams listed as “S 15” above are 15” deep and weigh 39 lbs/ft
• Is the window for allowing potential candidates to view the iron on the ground closed? I know it was stated that it was one day only. Please keep me informed if there will be any other looks.
o There are no additional opportunities to visit the site in person. However, there are photographs available on the RFP website in a “pre-proposal meeting” package, as well as additional photographs taken during the site visit. Those are available on the project website. If additional site visits are scheduled, we will alert all known interested parties.
• Has the large water pipe that traversed the bridge been completely removed from job site? I don’t remember seeing any pipe there.
o The water pipe was hauled offsite with some pieces being returned to Fulton County Water Department. None of the pipe remains for use.
• Do you have any ideas/preferences regarding the final finish of the sculpture such as paint or original rust or is this up to the artists judgement?
o This is up to the artist. You may propose up to three pieces.
• Is there a contact for future questions?
o All questions should be sent to DPAC@duluthga.net . DPAC may choose to issue a second addendum if there are pressing questions that come in. Please continue to look for addenda up until proposal submittal.
