Response to Bidders Questions

1. Q: Can we abandon existing electrical in-place, instead of remove it?

A: Demolition Key Notes on E1.0 and E1.1 describe the scope. The NEC requires that the wiring be removed completely (if installed in conduit), so the demolition work needs to include the complete removal of the existing wiring. The underground conduits can be abandoned in place but must be removed at the demolished pedestal location to at least 24” below finished grade and then cap and abandon in place.

If the existing feeders are direct buried cables, then remove the direct buried cables need to be removed to at least 24” below grade, cap the wiring, tape and tag to indicate abandoned in place and no longer energized.

Conductors cannot be abandoned in place and will need to be removed.

2. Q: 3” to 3.5” conduits will not fit in specified pedestal.

A: 1. Sheet E3.1

a. Revise Conduit & Wiring Schedule Mark 21 & 22 conduit size to be 3” in lieu of 3-1/2” conduit. The 3-600kcmil + 1#1/0 GRD will fit within the 3” conduit noted. Contractor should utilize compact aluminum conductors.

Note that this revision applies only to one (1) feeder (W13), as indicated on the One-Line Diagram.

2. Sheet E3.3

Note that Mark 21 & 22 feeder sizes are not used for any of the feeders on this sheet (East Campground) and is only revised for reference only related to the feeder sizes serving pedestals.

3. Q: Could you please tell me if we are required to submit the Appendix III - Exhibit 1 – Byrd Anti-Lobbying Certification with our bid proposal?

initiative

A: Yes

4. Q: Are we required to submit State Project Registrations with our proposal?
