SUBJECT: Addendum 1 to PORTLAND AIR NATIONAL GUARD (“PANG”) BUILDING 180 FIRE STATION BAY
DOORS REPLACEMENT, Project Number PANG 22-11B
TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS AND ALL OTHERS CONCERNED
1. The changes, clarifications, omissions, additions, and alterations in, on, and to the solicitation information and specifications shall apply to the bids submitted for and to the project indicated above. Except as modified by this Addendum, all of the terms and provisions of the Invitation to Bid (“ITB”) for the above listed project remain in full force and effect. This Addendum
Number 1 supersedes all previous instructions pertaining to the items listed:
CHANGES TO ITB
2. Changes to ITB: The following changes are made to the ITB. (Where applicable, additions are indicated with bold and underlined and deletions are indicated by strikethrough).
a. Section C.1.1.2 of Section C General Bidding Information is amended as follows.
Any statements made at this conference will not change the Plans, Specifications, or other Contract Documents unless an Addendum has been issued from OMD and posted on OregonBuys.
BIDDERS OR THEIR AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS MANDATORY
PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND REGISTER ON THE OFFICIAL SIGN IN SHEET. BIDS WILL ONLY BE
EVALUATED FROM BIDDERS WHO ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS REQUIREMENT. ALL OTHER
BIDS WILL BE CONSIDERED NON-RESPONSIVE.
b. Responses to questions received: Responses to questions received through 5-17-22
Question 1. What is the desired operating speed of the new vertical folding doors? IE. How fast shall the doors move from the closed to open position?
RESPONSE – As mentioned in the ITB, the requirement is 16 inches per second. If the motor the bidder has chosen, differs from this, it must be approved prior to bid submittal.
Question 2. What is the size of the apparatus housed in each garage bay? The vertical folding doors will need a minimum set back of 5-8’ clear space in the building to function properly. See sketch below.
RESPONSE – As mentioned in the ITB, the doors shall open on the outside of the building. ITB explains the need to remove the exterior bollards and not interior bollards.
Question 3. Are high speed OH Coiling doors acceptable for use in lieu of vertical folding doors?
RESPONSE – NO
Question 4. I would like to present an alternate manufacturer to the Findoor for the apparatus bay doors. I am attaching product information and show drawings for a Door Engineering Model FF300XT exterior folding door.
RESPONSE – Yes, Door Engineering Model FF300XT is an acceptable alternate option. As mentioned in the ITB, the doors should swing outside of the building to keep as much usable space on the interior of the building.
3. This addendum must be acknowledged and submitted for this project. By acknowledging this addendum on Section H, (2), (a) of the ITB, the bidder agrees they have read and understood the above mentioned changes and have incorporated those changes into their bid.
