About this file
This document is a Bid Form for the CR 543 Bridge Replacement project issued by Huerfano County, Colorado. The bid solicits a single prime contract for bridge replacement and associated roadway improvements, with work including bridge removal, structure excavation and backfill, concrete work, reinforcing steel installation, guardrail replacement, and various environmental and site preparation tasks. The project requires substantial completion within 100 calendar days and final completion within 120 calendar days. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation including a 5% bid bond, contractor's license, lists of proposed subcontractors and suppliers, and a bidder qualification statement.
The bid is structured as a unit price contract with detailed line items covering everything from clearing and grubbing to wildlife biologist hours and erosion control. The document offers two alternative bid options: a cast-in-place box culvert and a precast box culvert, allowing the county flexibility in selecting the most advantageous approach. Fixed-price additional items include minor contract revisions ($30,000), fuel cost adjustment ($1,000), on-the-job trainee costs ($640), and erosion control ($2,500). The bid must be submitted to the Huerfano County Administrator and will remain valid for 60 days after the bid opening, with bidders required to provide evidence of authority to do business in Colorado and complete DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) participation reporting.
