About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a hose assembly procurement. The required product is a ¼-inch thermoplastic 100R8 hose assembly, 6 feet in overall length, rated for service up to 5,000 PSI. Both end connections must be 316 stainless steel #4 female JIC swivel fittings, and the assembly must include spring guards on both ends. The hose must be lubricated during fabrication using water-soluble lubricant during the swaging process, with no lubricant applied between the hose's inner diameter and end fitting.

The specification includes a mandatory proof testing requirement whereby the hose assembly must be pressure-tested to 10,000 psig for 1 to 5 minutes with zero leakage permitted. Test reports documenting proof test results must be provided with the deliverable. These salient characteristics define the minimum technical requirements that any proposed hose assembly must meet to satisfy the contract requirement.
