About this file

This is an Amendment No. 1 to the Special Conditions for the DRUM Tenderfoot Flat Top Project, a state and local contract opportunity issued by Colorado. The project is located 5 miles east of Gateway, Colorado in Mesa County on Bureau of Land Management land managed by the Grand Junction Field Office. The amendment clarifies multiple changes to the original bid documents, including revisions to the Bid Schedule and Feature Worksheet regarding work descriptions for line items 420 A1, 521 A2, 5895 A2, 5896 A3, and a specification change for item 5895 A7 to require backfill with 4 cubic yards of polyurethane foam (PUF). Additionally, the amendment specifies that contractors must supply certified weed-free mulch, with wood mulch removed from project requirements. A pre-bid meeting was held prior to this amendment, with meeting recordings, KMZ files of feature locations, and approved roads available in the referenced Google folder. The bid submittal deadline is Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MT, with bid opening scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

The project timeline runs from September 15 through November 30, 2026, and is part of a multi-project initiative whereby the same contractor may be selected as the low bidder for up to three concurrent DRUM projects during this period. Contractors selected for multiple projects must submit an acceptable schedule demonstrating crew capacity and experience to complete all projects within tight wildlife-related deadlines; failure to meet the schedule will result in liquidated damages. Mountain West Helicopters has been removed from the approved helicopter vendors list, leaving Mountain Blade Runner and Heliqwest International as the only approved vendors for helicopter services. All other terms and conditions of the original Documented Quote remain unchanged, with contractor acknowledgment of this amendment required on the Revised Bid Schedule submission.
