About this file
This is a Project Scope of Work document for propane supply at Great Sand Dunes National Park in the Intermountain Region, dated January 22, 2025. The document outlines requirements for maintaining nine propane tanks throughout the park that serve employee housing areas, the visitor center, office buildings, and a maintenance building.
The scope specifies five actively used tanks requiring regular service: Tank #2 (VC North, 1000 gallons) and Tank #9 (Sand Bay, 250 gallons) require biweekly fills, while Tank #6 (HQ,RM, 2000 gallons), Tank #7 (Housing SE, 2000 gallons), and Tank #8 (Housing NW, 2000 gallons) require monthly fills. Two tanks (#1 and #3, both 1000 gallons) are currently inactive but may be activated during the contract period. Two additional tanks (#4 and #5, both 1000 gallons) are inactive and not expected to be used. Based on historical data, the park uses approximately 13,000 gallons of propane annually, with highest usage in winter months (December peak of 3,366 gallons) and lowest in summer (August low of 75 gallons). The document includes detailed location maps and photos of the tank installations.

Supply Propane Great Sand Dunes National Park
1.0 Overview
The park has nine propane tanks located throughout the park. These tanks serve employee housing areas, the visitor center, numerous office buildings, and a maintenance building. Maintaing sufficient levels of propane and not allowing propane tanks to run empty is critical for park operations.
2.0 Location
The main address for Great Sand Dunes National Park, 115000 State Hwy 150, Mosca, CO 81146. The specific location for each tank are depicted below.

3.0 Scope
See table for breakdown of tanks with expected delivery intervals for winter months. Delivery intervals may be reduced during summer months as long as tanks do not go empty. Based off the data in Table 2 it is estimated that the park uses approximately 13,000 gallons of propane per year. Usage may fluctuate year to year based on air temperature, appliance efficiency and other factors.
