About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's requirement to outfit a new Type 6 fire engine for the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex. The project involves purchasing and installing a comprehensive emergency response vehicle package, including a 120" aluminum flatbed skid unit with multiple storage compartments, a 400-gallon pump package with an 18HP Briggs & Stratton motor, and extensive Whelen emergency lighting system. The vehicle will be equipped with a center console, mobile radio mounting capabilities, and must meet NFPA 1900 Standard for Wildland Fire Apparatus.

The SOW specifies detailed technical requirements for the skid unit, pump package, lighting, and electrical systems, with allowances for "or equal" component substitutions pending prior approval. Delivery is contingent on the vendor being within 250 miles of Klamath Basin, with a preferred project timeline of 12 months. The government will provide two Bendix King KNG M150 mobile radios, and the final deliverable must include comprehensive documentation such as warranty information, engineering drawings, weight certifications, and a bill of materials. A performance test involving a 10-mile road test under adverse conditions will be conducted to evaluate the apparatus, with final acceptance determined by refuge staff.
