Water System Replacement
Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge, ND

I. PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Tewaukon NWR water system is over 60 years old and had resulted in a constant failing system. The system serves the main campus that includes multiple buildings. The water system connects to a third-party system, but the project only impacts
UWFWS property.
II. PROJECT SCOPE
The project will leave the existing system in place and be made unusable. The contractor will remove the 9 curb stops and 3 yard hydrants.
The new construction includes 74 feet of 2” water main, 1512 feet of 1-1/2” water main, 550 feet 1” water service line, 7 curb stops, and a yard hydrant.
The project will connect to the water system that is located directly outside of the building foundation.
III. CONFERENCES
The Initial Conference shall be held within seven (7) days of Notice to Proceed as directed by the Contracting Officer.
Weekly progress meetings shall be held during the construction phase.
IV. DELIVERABLES AND SCHEDULE
Water system replacement at Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge will occur as outlined in the drawings and specifications.
Projects shall be completed within 120 days after the notice to proceed has been issued. Extensions of schedule will be considered for adverse field conditions. All personnel listed in the Designated Officials section shall receive an electronic copy of the construction schedule.
V. SUBMISSION OF PROPOSAL
Submit a Technical and Cost Proposal for all work required in the Drawings and Specifications. Provide breakouts for all materials, equipment and field work required.
The Prospective Bidders will be evaluated on field work capabilities, price, ability to meet deadlines, and locality.
Prospective bidders are urged to visit the site and become familiar with existing conditions and ascertain the conditions which affect the work. Failure of the successful bidder to visit the site prior to submitting a bid or proposal on this work will not relieve the successful bidder from completing the project at the bid price. Prospective bidders must make site inspection arrangements with the Station Manager at Tewaukon NWR, Phone (701) 724-5702.
