About this file
This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for an Equipment Technical Manual (Sanitized), numbered DI-TMSS-81675A and approved on 27 APR 2017. The DID provides specifications for contractors to develop a comprehensive technical manual for fully configured systems, intended primarily for operators and maintenance technicians. The manual must include detailed information such as equipment description, installation instructions, operating controls and indicators, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and replaceable parts lists with supporting engineering drawings.
Key requirements include developing the manual in accordance with the purchasing organization's internal technical writing standards, sanitizing the document by removing government or agency ties, and potentially using it in conjunction with other technical manuals (Subsystem or System Technical Manuals). The document is prepared by NS/B81 with a project number TMSS-2017-016, is applicable to GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program), and supersedes a previous version of the same DID. Specific sanitization procedures will be provided at contract award, and the manual's illustrations must conform to related engineering documentation standards.
