About this file

This is a Scope of Work (SOW) for a historical curtain reproduction project at the Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site. The National Park Service requires a contractor to reproduce and install 18 window curtains and associated tiebacks for three second-floor chambers: Alice Longfellow Bedroom, Second Floor Front Hall, and Alice Longfellow Study. The curtains must precisely replicate original historic textiles based on museum collection samples, with specific requirements for each room including fabric type, color, and design details.

The contractor is responsible for all materials, fabrication, and installation, using existing historic curtain rods and rings where possible. Deliverables include a description of original documents, proposed manufacturing method, technical data for lining and interlining materials, and the finished installed drapery. A site visit is strongly encouraged to examine original documents and understand installation requirements. Payment will be made in full upon delivery and acceptance of the installed curtains. All contractors must be registered in SAM.gov, and the project will be overseen by David Daly, Curator at the Longfellow House National Historic Site.
