About this file
This document contains a summary worksheet and lists of technical documentation required for an initial spare parts solicitation related to the B-52 Wheel & Brake System Improvement Program. The summary worksheet outlines the types of items to be included in the initial spares list such as parts, materials, connecting cables, and piping required to operate and maintain end items for an initial service period. It also requires common and special design hardware, electrical and electronic parts, and reparable contractor off-the-shelf items. A common and bulk items list identifies difficult to list parts but necessary to support end item operation including material specifications, bulk items like electrical wire and cables, and peculiar semi-fabricated items. Additional lists include design change notices to update initial spare parts and a long lead items list identifying items with a production lead time over 18 months due to complex design or limited production capacity.

B-52 WBSI INITIAL SPARES SUMMARY WORKSHEET
TYPES OF TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED
INITIAL SPARES LIST: Identify the end item, component or assembly and all support items which can be disassembled, reassembled, or replaced, and when combined, constitute the end item, component or assembly. This may include, but is not limited to;
1. Items such as parts, materials connecting cable, piping and fittings required for the operation and maintenance of the end item, component or assembly.
2. Range and quantity of support items required to maintain the end item for an initial period of service.
3. All reparable contractor off-the-shelf (COTS) items unless excluded by the procuring activity.
4. Items of common and special design hardware such as nuts, bolts, screws, keys, washers and fittings.
5. Electrical and electronic parts such as connectors, contacts, resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, etc.
COMMON AND BULK ITEMS LIST:
1. Identify those items that are difficult or impractical to list on a top-down assembly parts list sequence but are required to support the operation of the end item/equipment.
2. Identify material and specifications including material type, grade, class, etc.
3. Identify bulk items such as; electrical wire and cables, gasket material, tubing, hose, adhesives, paints, oils, grease, solvents and metal and plastic stocks, e,g, rods and sheets.
4. Identify peculiar, seldom rolled, seldom milled semi fabricated items (less castings and forgings) and extrusions(rubber and metal).
DESIGN CHANGE NOTICES (DCNS):
1. Identify changes to the initial spare parts lists which add to, delete, supersede or modify items previously listed which are approved for incorporation into the end item.
LONG LEAD ITEMS LIST (LLIL):
1. Identify those items which due to their complexity of design, complicated manufacturing process or limited production capacity, may cause production or procurement cycles which would preclude timely and adequate delivery if not ordered in advance of normal acquisition. Identify those items with a production lead time greater than 18 months.
