The helium purifier must be an in-line, continuous operation system with double-bed configuration capable of handling inlet impurities of 100 ppmv and reducing outlet purity to 1 ppmv or less. Key performance requirements include: operating pressure range of 116-232 psig (8-16 barg), flow rate capacity of 40 g/s, regeneration time of each bed not exceeding 6 hours, pressure drop not exceeding 600 mBar at low pressure or 300 mBar at high pressure, startup time under 2 hours, and LN2 consumption not exceeding 30 Gal/hr during 2K pumping mode. The system must accommodate a non-climate-controlled facility with temperatures of 30±2°C and humidity of 30-60%, occupy a maximum footprint of 12.5 ft length by 6 ft width, and maintain operational life of 20+ years with 4,000 operating hours annually and 24 warm-up/cool-down cycles yearly. All pressurized components must comply with DOE 10CFR851 and ASME codes, including BPVC sections and B31.3 process piping standards. The scope includes delivery of the purifier, piping interconnections, terminal box connections for BNL PLC integration, and instrumentation featuring 4-20 mA analog signals and 24VDC digital signals with minimum 3-wire temperature sensor connections.
