About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a federal contract for playground structures and installation at two locations within the Harry S. Truman Lake Project in Warsaw, Missouri. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks a contractor to provide and install playground equipment, surface materials, and concrete borders at Bucksaw Campground (base requirement) and optionally at Shawnee Bend Beach Public Use Area. The contract includes two primary options: Option 1 involves full playground installation at Shawnee Bend (1500 sq ft), while Option 2 involves equipment-only installation without surfacing or border.
The PWS specifies comprehensive requirements for playground equipment, including strict safety standards mandating ADA compliance, age-appropriate design for children 5-12 years old, and detailed equipment specifications. Key requirements include steel construction, non-rusting and non-toxic materials, vandal-proof components, and specific design elements like slides, climbers, and activity panels. The contractor must complete site preparation, equipment delivery and installation, final grading, and seeding, with a six-month completion timeline from the contract award date. The project emphasizes safety, durability, and adherence to Consumer Product Safety Commission and ASTM standards for playground equipment.
