[A] County_Holidays.pdf

This document is a County Observed Holidays schedule for Cecil County, Maryland, detailing the official holidays recognized by the county throughout the calendar year. The holidays listed include New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day (in even-numbered years), Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, American Indian Heritage Day (the day after Thanksgiving), and Christmas Day. Certain holidays—specifically Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day—are observed on a Monday when they fall on other days of the week. A notable exception exists for the Cecil County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division at the Central Landfill, which operates on American Indian Heritage Day despite it being an observed county holiday.

The document serves as a reference guide indicating that an official and complete list of county holidays is available for each calendar year upon request from Cecil County. This holiday schedule applies to county operations and employees and would be relevant to vendors and contractors conducting business with Cecil County, particularly those involved with the county's services such as the Solid Waste Management Division referenced in the associated electronics recycling contract opportunity. The schedule establishes the business calendar framework for planning purposes related to county contracts and service delivery requirements.
