About this file

This is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for product 9297-H, a corrosive chemical formulation prepared on January 7, 2014, related to a Maryland state and local contract opportunity for light rail car wash chemicals under a three-year contract term. The product is a clear liquid with an acrid odor, composed primarily of acid salts (5-10% by weight), a proprietary surfactant blend (5-10% by weight), and water. The material is identified as a corrosive liquid hazardous for shipping purposes under UN 1760 classification with Hazard Class 8 and Packing Group II designation, requiring proper personal protective equipment including safety glasses and neoprene gloves during handling.

The chemical demonstrates complete water solubility with a specific gravity of 1.04, pH of 1.0, and viscosity of 5 centipoise, with a boiling point exceeding 212°F and flash point greater than 200°F, rendering it nonflammable. The product is fully biodegradable but may be harmful to aquatic organisms at low concentrations. All ingredients are listed on the TSCA inventory, and the formulation contains phosphoric acid and 2-butoxyethanol, both subject to Section 313 SARA TITLE III reporting requirements. The SDS specifies that the material is stable under ambient temperature storage conditions while avoiding freezing or extreme heat, and requires disposal in accordance with applicable local, state, county, and federal regulations.
