• 95% of work area contains a light thatch on the ground.

Remaining soil may be moved and placed without the need to remove vegetated layer.

No separate measurement or payment will be made for clearing and grubbing.

00330.03 Basis of Performance - Add the following paragraph to the end of this subsection:

(ADD) Work shall be performed on the excavation basis, although the soil quantities are designed to balance.

Special Provisions - Job #900199 Page 8

00330.41 Excavations

(a) General

(ADD) (13) Pool Excavation – Excavate the areas of removal for the vernal pools to create a smooth elevation transition between existing and proposed grade.

Grade the bottom of the pool per the digital model with an excavator or tracked dozer by moving the removal material to the vernal pool area of fill and shaping per the detail.

00330.42 Embankment, Fills, and Backfills

(ADD) Embankments shown on the plans shall be compacted to a stable mass, without excess compaction that would be detrimental to plant growth.

(ADD) Contractor shall compact the embankment berms with a sheep’s foot roller after each 12” lift of soil, to the satisfaction of the Engineer.

00330.70 General

(ADD) Compaction Mitigation – Rip or disc and back blade truck routes and other compacted areas onsite, if directed, to the satisfaction of the Engineer.

00330.81 Excavation Basis Measurement

(ADD) Excavation quantities were determined by designing a digital terrain model

(DTM) in AutoCAD. The final model will be provided to aid in 3D grade control.

General Excavation will not be field measured. Measurement will be per plan quantity listed in the bid schedule. If Work is added or subtracted to the Contract, the Excavation associated with the change in Work will be measured and added or subtracted to the quantity listed in the bid schedule and paid at the contract unit price.

(ADD) General Excavation Quantities are broken down as follows:
