About this file
This document is a Fire Alarm Inspection and Testing Form completed by Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, Inc. for the Chatham County Sheriff's Office Document Storage facility located at 1050 Carl Griffin Drive in Savannah, Georgia. The inspection was conducted on 12/10/24 at 9:00 AM by Walt Harper, with Jim Baker representing the property, and was performed in accordance with NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code and NFPA 70, National Electric Code standards. The inspection covered a fire alarm system manufactured by Kidde, with an AEGIS model control panel, utilizing various circuit styles and including multiple alarm initiating devices such as manual stations, ion detectors, and photo detectors.
The fire alarm system includes primary power supplies of 24Vdc with fuse protection, located in the Server Room, and a secondary battery backup with a 7 amp-hour rating calculated to operate the system for 24 hours. The inspection verified both visual and functional performance of the control panel, interface equipment, power supplies, trouble signals, disconnect switches, and notification appliances. All system components were tested, including emergency communication interfaces, special hazard systems (specifically an FM200 suppression system), and on/off premise monitoring capabilities. The system was restored to normal operation at 10:00 AM, with notifications provided to building management, monitoring agency, building occupants, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
