About this file

Chatham County is soliciting a competitive bid (Bid No. 25-0097-4) for an annual contract to provide inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of fire suppression systems at the Chatham County Detention Center. The contract requires two semi-annual inspections of seven fire suppression systems located in various facility locations including kitchen hoods, server rooms, and a warrant depository room. The systems are manufactured by Pyro-Chem Ansul, Ansul, Gaurdian Residential, and Kidde Aegis. The contractor will be responsible for comprehensive testing, maintenance, and repair services, including verifying system functions, checking components, and providing detailed inspection reports.

The scope of work mandates adherence to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and manufacturers' recommendations. The contractor must respond to non-emergency service requests by coordinating with Facility Engineering and adhere to strict scheduling requirements. For emergency service requests, the contractor must respond within two hours and begin repairs within twelve hours of the initial service call. Additional requirements include providing an inspection checklist, obtaining facility engineer escorts during service, and complying with strict security protocols when working within the detention center's secured area, including daily identification checks, search procedures, and tool management guidelines.
