About this file

The document is a Bonfire E-Signature Agreement from the County of Bergen, New Jersey, involving the county's e-procurement system. The agreement establishes a framework for electronic signatures and document submissions across local government units in Bergen County, leveraging the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). The document allows vendors to create a single vendor profile usable across all local units in the county, with an electronic signature valid for one year from the date of signing.

The agreement enables vendors to submit bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and other offers electronically, with the understanding that the signature will serve as an official signature except where specifically requested otherwise by participating local units. The document requires an authorized individual from a vendor to affirm their signature's validity and authorize electronic business conduct. By implementing this e-procurement solution, Bergen County aims to modernize and streamline procurement processes for local government units, creating electronic records with business, legal, and potential historical value.
