About this file
This document is Attachment FF, a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification that appears to be part of a broader contract or project bid document. The attachment provides comprehensive guidance for weather-related worker safety, specifically addressing extreme heat and cold conditions during project execution. The requirement mandates that the Prime Contractor include a detailed Safety Plan with provisions for protecting workers from heat-related and cold-related illnesses, with a specific focus on a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan when temperatures exceed 90 degrees (either in temperature or heat index).
The document requires the vendor to acknowledge and agree to these safety provisions by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. Key safety provisions include ensuring worker acclimatization, providing water, rest periods, and shade during high-temperature conditions. The Prime Contractor is also expected to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather conditions. By signing the bid document, vendors commit to following these heat protection safety requirements throughout the project's duration.
