About this file

This is a comprehensive bid and contract document for a mechanical and electrical upgrade project involving Cleveland Community College, located in Shelby, North Carolina, and prepared by AeroRaq Engineering. The project involves replacing make-up air units, rooftop units, and associated mechanical and electrical systems at the Paksoy Building and Field House. The sealed bid proposals are due on November 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with a non-mandatory pre-bid conference scheduled for November 6, 2025. The project includes removing and replacing dedicated outdoor air handlers, packaged rooftop units, installing new thermostats, and potentially adding patio heaters as an alternate bid item. The contract term appears to be approximately 160 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays.

The project is structured as a single prime contract with a total estimated value that includes mechanical and electrical upgrades across multiple building zones. The bid requires contractors to have proper North Carolina licensing, with general contractors needing an unlimited general construction license. Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises are highly encouraged to apply. The project includes specific technical specifications for HVAC, electrical, and control systems, with detailed requirements for equipment installation, testing, and performance. The funding appears to be from the college's capital improvement budget, with electrical work being performed on existing 480V and 208V electrical systems. The project also includes requirements for energy efficiency, system integration, and compliance with North Carolina building and mechanical codes.
