About this file
This document contains a request for information (RFI) from the National Archives and Records Administration concerning a replacement visitor services system (VSS) for presidential libraries. The current VSS provider is ACME Technologies, Inc., whose contract expires on September 30, 2020. The RFI seeks information on commercial off-the-shelf solutions to furnish, configure, deploy, and maintain a cloud-hosted VSS capable of meeting NARA's needs with minimal changes. The system must support ticket sales, reservations, rentals, and statistical reporting for 13 presidential libraries and museums. Eight libraries currently use Apple iPad point-of-sale devices integrated with printers, card readers, and cash drawers to conduct onsite ticket transactions. All libraries use the system for group and event management. The RFI aims to gather market data to determine the ability of alternative solutions to meet NARA's requirements before potentially pursuing an acquisition. No timeline is given but the agency notes the need to replace the expiring contract.
