About this file
This file contains optional industry questions issued by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as part of a Sources Sought Notice for Automated External Defibrillator (AED) equipment and services. The questions are designed to gather market research information and industry feedback to inform HUD's anticipated procurement of maintenance and support services for approximately 177 defibrillators deployed across HUD field offices nationwide, plus 47 AEDs at HUD headquarters in the Washington, DC area. The related Sources Sought Notice (Solicitation Number 86614326SS00001) was issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal. Responses were due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Friday, June 26, 2026, submitted to Shelli.J.Waltz@hud.gov.
The industry questions focus on HUD's current LIFEPAK CR2 AED devices and seek vendor input across multiple dimensions including: service, maintenance, and training capabilities specific to these devices; estimated costs for supporting the 224 total AEDs; first aid training offerings and certification validity periods; virtual versus on-site training effectiveness; comparisons of modern AEDs to current equipment; technical capabilities such as WiFi and LAN connectivity; recent technological advancements; emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and remote sensing applications; user-friendliness assessments; prevalence of AED usage across the federal government; FedRAMP approval status and technical standards compliance for software; and industry best practices for AED program management and tracking. This is a pre-solicitation market research document intended to inform future procurement strategy, and the Government explicitly stated it will not pay for responses and that responding will not preclude vendors from participating in future Requests for Quotation.
