About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to the replacement of a Bard HVAC unit for NASA's Shared Services Center. The document addresses three key clarifications: 1) confirmation that a lift gate will be needed for delivery, 2) specifications regarding the new unit's dimensions compared to the existing unit, noting that while framing aspects will match, the new unit may have a larger condenser coil (increasing from ~85" to ~93" in height) and greater depth (from 22" to 25"), with the electrical panel relocating from the right side to the front, and 3) a request for the existing Bard model and serial numbers to provide an accurate quote.

The document references an HVAC Slide attachment (not included) that contains additional details about the current controls system and the existing unit's model/serial numbers. The questions focus on technical specifications and logistics for the replacement unit, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure while accounting for modern equipment dimensions.

Ques ons and Answers

1. Can you confirm if a li gate is needed for delivery? Yes, a li gate will be needed.

2. The exis ng unit that went down was said to be a bard, so the new unit will match framing aspects, However, depending on the age of the downed unit, the new unit may have a larger condenser coil growing from ~85” to ~93” in height. This added height will be to the bo om of the unit. The new unit will also grow from 22” in depth off the wall to 25” depth. With the electrical panel moving from the right-hand side to the front of the unit. See a ached spec sheet.

Again, the framing and duct openings all match.

The objec ve also states to use the same controls, do you have any informa on on what controls are currently? Please refer to HVAC Slide a achment for details.

3. In order to provide a quote on the proper unit where the replacement is an exact or close to match, I will need the exis ng Bard model number and serial number. Please refer to HVAC Slide a achment for details.
