GSFC is one of nine National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) field installations. It is a federal installation consisting of approximately 1,270 acres, contains 34 major buildings on its main Greenbelt campus. However, in accordance with NASA policy, GEWA follows the FAR and NFS to the maximum extent practicable. GEWA operates with funds generated from sales to customers rather than with funds appropriated by Congress. As such, the revenues generated under this Agreement are crucial for supporting the morale and welfare of the GSFC employee population.

Where the term, “Government” or “Federal Government” or “NASA” is used in this document, it can be substituted with “GEWA,” except where the context would indicate otherwise. The term “Contract” and “Agreement” can be used interchangeably. Likewise, the term “Contractor” and “Concessionaire” can be used interchangeably.
