About this file
This document is a specification sheet for an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Spectrometer System solicitation by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT). The bid requests a turn-key spectrometer system similar to the Bruker S2 PUMA Series 2, capable of quantitative element analysis for elements from Carbon to Americium, with the ability to analyze solid, liquid, and powder samples. The system must have a bench-top design with a footprint not exceeding 60" x 30", operate with 110 VAC, be air-cooled, and provide radiation protection of less than 1µSv/h. The specifications require an integrated touchscreen, computer equipment compatible with NDOT's network, and include provisions for analysis in air, vacuum, and helium environments.
The solicitation includes comprehensive requirements for hardware, software, and support. The bid mandates a standardless analysis software package, a turn-key cement application package, and factory-certified installation. Additionally, multiple-day operational training at NDOT's Materials Lab in Carson City, NV is required. Technical support must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and accessible via phone, email, and web-based platforms. The computer equipment specifications are detailed, requiring a 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Windows 11 64-Bit OS, and networking capabilities to connect with both the instrument and the department's network.
