About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file related to an RFP issued by Tucson Unified School District (TUHSD) for a Food Service Management Company (FSMC) management-only contract where the School Food Authority (SFA) retains staff. The Q&A document addresses inquiries submitted by prospective bidders regarding the RFP 27-15-31, clarifying requirements, specifications, and operational expectations for the food service management position. The document provides detailed responses to questions covering various aspects of the proposed contract, including staffing arrangements, operational procedures, financial considerations, and compliance requirements. Key details regarding response deadlines, bidder meetings, site visits, and contract award timelines would be referenced in the primary RFP document rather than in this Q&A supplement.

The Q&A responses clarify pricing structures, staffing responsibilities, and operational procedures between TUHSD and the selected FSMC. The responses indicate the nature of the management relationship where the FSMC manages operations while the district retains direct employment of food service staff. Additional salient information regarding funding sources, budget allocations, contract term length, and renewal options would be outlined in the primary RFP solicitation document. This Q&A document serves as supplemental guidance to ensure prospective bidders have consistent understanding of expectations and requirements prior to proposal submission.

a. Solicitation is for a Fixed Price per meal model.

6. What formula will be used to evaluate and score the proposed pricing?

Those extended https://www.tuhsd.org/business-services https://www.tuhsd.org/business-services amounts will be added together to determine each Offeror’s total evaluated price.

The lowest total evaluated responsive price will receive 37 points. All other responsive Offerors will receive pricing points using:

i. Lowest Evaluated Responsive Price ÷ Offeror’s Evaluated Price × 37.

7. Given the short turnaround time after questions are answered, would the district consider extending the RFP proposal deadline? Even if by a few days to the 21 st or 22 nd of September?
