About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document for the Broward County Transportation Department's Bus Passenger Seat Inserts project in Florida. The document establishes mandatory insurance coverage requirements for vendors providing upholstery and repair services on damaged bus seat inserts. Broward County is identified as the certificate holder and must be named as an additional insured on all policies. The vendor must carry General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability coverage with $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits if driving is required for performance, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits if the vendor will perform work on-site, and Employer's Liability with $500,000 per accident limits. Excess Liability or Umbrella coverage may be used to supplement minimum requirements.
The insurance requirements specify that Broward County's coverage shall be primary and not require contribution from the County or its self-insurance program. A waiver of subrogation applies in favor of Broward County. The vendor must provide 30 days' written notice of policy cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment cancellations. For Claims-Made policies, insurance must be maintained and evidence of coverage provided for at least three years after contract completion. Additional requirements include Pollution/Environmental Liability coverage with a maximum $10,000 deductible if chemical applications are involved, and Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) coverage for engineering, surveying, and design professionals. The document was digitally signed on April 13, 2026.
