About this file
This is a specifications document for an alternate light source system required by a California state or local forensic laboratory agency for the detection and examination of biological stains and evidence. The system must be a multi-spectral, portable alternate light source equipped with an integrated high-resolution camera capable of documenting evidence at crime scenes and in laboratory settings. The alternate light source must include a 20.1MP mirrorless forensic camera with a 30mm f/3.5 macro lens, autofocus capability, near-infrared technology, and a motorized filter wheel with intelligent filter selection to scan evidence at multiple wavelengths without requiring separate light sources. The unit must be compact and portable with an external rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack providing approximately three hours of runtime, eliminating the need for power cords or external power sources at crime scenes. The system must feature high-sensitivity color and infrared imaging capabilities, HDMI live video output, segmented coaxial lighting arrays with scientific-grade LED trimming filters, an auto touchscreen display, rapid battery charging with charge status indication, and a carry case with an over-the-shoulder strap for transport.
The specifications document does not contain information regarding pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidders' conferences, or contract award and term details. These procurement parameters would typically be found in the associated solicitation or bid documents.
