2-3 times per year a 5-6 month course may be underway when a three-day Recurring training class is being held at the same time. The PWS states the contactor is responsible for managing and maintaining the computer equipment (hardware & software) and ensure it is fully functional to include program updates, database upgrades, equipment troubleshooting, workstation configuration, script development, maintaining computer access and required functionality. It also directs the contractor with with Computer Support Administrators and other support personnel to manage and maintain equipment functionality. If these computers are part of the AFNET will the contractor have elevated privileged and ALT tokens with administrator access to manage the computer equipment to load, configure hardware and software (database) configuration and to install security patches? Will the contractor have systems administer privileges to add/remove users from the training systems and change the endpoint standard desktop configuration while joined to the AFNET?
No. Over time previous contractor instructors who supported this requirement and had administrative privileges have lost those privileges due to AFNET restrictions. The role has become more of a "coordination" role with local ACOMS (computer help desk) staff who actually handle most hardware/software replacements and updates. ANY of the contractor instructors could likely perform (or share) this coordination role.
