To support the research conducted by the NHLBI DIR investigators. Services are necessary in the form of instrument components contracted through instrument manufacturer.
The Flow Cytometry Core is a state of the art facility dedicated to support research conducted by NHLBI investigators. The DIR’s research relies heavily upon instrumentation for both the analysis and sorting of the cells that are subsequently utilized in downstream assays. Our instrumentation is highly specialized, and it is essential to ensure that each system remains in reliable working condition. FACS Core would like to have a service contract in place to ensure equipment is functioning properly so that the facility can operate properly.
The contractor, as a part of the service contract agreement, must perform 2 preventive inspections of all the above components of the flow cytometer and validate its integrity to meet manufacturers operational standards. The repairs and preventive inspections are necessary to maintain the instruments operational integrity to ensure reliable results for the clinical patient samples.
3. Statement of Need and Objectives
A service contract is requested to cover flow cytometer instrumentations. This equipment is used by clinical researchers, and it is crucial that remain functional and operational. A service contract is essential to ensure that instrument remains in reliable working condition.
During the preventive inspection, the trained service engineer will replace fluidics components, such as filters and valves, replace and inspect optical components if defective, replace tubing, and lubricate all mechanical parts per protocol. During the service contract period the contractor must provide all necessary repairs for the instrument at no additional cost. The repairs may involve making corrections to the existing components or replacing defective instrument components. For example, such components as lasers, flow cell bodies, and electronic boards and switches may become defective and will be replaced during the contract period. The completion date or period of performance will be 1 year from the beginning of the contract period.
