About this file
This specification document (Section 085313) details requirements for vinyl windows in a construction project. Manufacturers such as Pella, JEN-WELD, Anderson, and Milgard are approved, with windows required to meet specific performance standards including AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440 certification, minimum Performance Class R, Performance Grade 15, and a maximum whole-window U-factor of 0.30 Btu/sq. ft. x h x deg F. Windows must feature impact-resistant, UV-stabilized PVC frames in white, full-perimeter weather stripping, corrosion-resistant hardware, and integrated insect screens.
The specification covers comprehensive requirements for window fabrication, including factory glazing, hardware mounting, and installation procedures. Windows must be installed level, plumb, and square, anchored securely to structural supports to ensure weathertight construction. The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty covering both windows and glazing units, with specific instructions for proper installation, cleaning, and maintenance. The document also specifies detailed requirements for window components, including aluminum screen frames, glass-fiber mesh fabric, and guidelines for handling and replacing damaged sashes during the construction period.
