Contractor Pre Bid Walk Through Rosebud Penthouse Mechanical Work Rosebud Comprehensive Health Care Center, Rosebud, SD Project # OK18V41 Solicitation # 75H70122R00022
Jeffrey Haubenreiser Contract Specialist Department of Engineering Services (Dallas)
Dear Mr. Haubenreiser, There was one question/request by contractors that came up at the pre-bid walk through that was held at the Rosebud Comprehensive Health Care Facility on Thursday, April 7th.
The contractors asked to clarify the new control valve type, size, and CV rating for all 4 air handlers. A contractor stated that this would give everyone an equal bidding opportunity as the valves could vary in price widely based on a valve selection which can be highly ambiguous. I agreed to give clarification on this matter.
Each of the 4 air handler 2 way modulating DDC valves shall be provided as follows in lieu of what the scope of work reads:
AHU-1 – Provide a 3 inch modulating ball or globe style valve that shall flow a maximum of 130 GPM from both stacked cooling coils and with a CV rating in the range of 100-150 and/or a pressure drop of 0.75-1.5 PSI or approximately half of each stacked cooling coil pressure drop of 5.6 feet of head (2.4 PSI).
AHU-2 – Provide a 4 inch modulating ball or globe style valve that shall flow a maximum of 252 GPM from both stacked cooling coils and with a CV rating in the range of 165-225 and/or a pressure drop of 1.25-2.3 PSI or approximately half of each stacked cooling coil pressure drop of 10.7 feet of head (4.6 PSI).
AHU-3 – Provide a 3 inch modulating ball or globe style valve that shall flow a maximum of 130 GPM from both stacked cooling coils and with a CV rating in the range of 100-150 and/or a pressure drop of 0.75-1.5 PSI or approximately half of each stacked cooling coil pressure drop of 5.6 feet of head (2.4 PSI).
