RESINOUS AGGREGATE FLOORING
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Polyurethane/cementitious decorative corrosion resistant industrial flooring for interior concrete surfaces.
B. Divider strips and accessories.

1.04 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: Provide data on specified products, describing physical and performance characteristics; sizes, patterns and colors available .
B. Samples: Submit two samples, 4 by 4 inch in size illustrating color and pattern for each floor material for each color specified.
C. Concrete Subfloor Test Report: Submit a copy of the moisture and alkalinity (pH) test reports.
D. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate special procedures .
E. Maintenance Data: Include maintenance procedures, recommended maintenance materials, procedures for stain removal, repairing surface, and suggested schedule for cleaning.
1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Qualifications:
1. Applicator: Use applicator experienced in application of specified materials on projects of similar size and complexity. Provide list of completed projects including project name and location, name of architect, name of material manufacturer, and approximate quantity of materials applied.
2. Applicator's Personnel: Provide documentation of and Employ only persons trained for application of specified materials.
3. Supervisor Qualifications: Trained by product manufacturer. Under direct full time supervision of manufacturer's own foreman
B. Pre-application Meeting: Convene a pre-application meeting 2 Two weeks before start of application of floor coating. Require attendance of parties directly affecting work of this section, including Contractor, Contractoring Officer, applicator, and manufacturer's representative.
Review surface preparation, priming, application, curing, protection, and coordination with other work.
1.06 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name, manufacturer, batch or lot number, and date of manufacture. Do not store materials in direct sunlight.
B. Storage:
1. Store between 50-75ºF (10°-25°C), do not store in direct sunlight or high heat conditions.
2. Keep containers sealed until ready for use.
3. Do not subject material to freezing; do not apply material that has been subjected to freezing. Material subjected to freezing shall be separated from inventory and destroyed by mixing all three components. The solid reacted product shall be disposed of in environmentally sound and regulatory compliant manner.
4. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent damage or contamination.
5. Condition materials for use to 60º-70ºF (15-21ºC) for 24 hours prior to application.
1.07 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
A. Do not apply materials if floor or air temperature is below 50ºF/7ºC or above 85ºF/30ºC.
B. Do not apply materials if relative humidity is above 85% (percent) or within 5º (3º) of dew point at time of application.
C. Utilities, including electric, water, heat and finished lighting to be supplied by General
Contractor D. Maintain room temperature between 50ºF – 85ºF (7ºC - 30ºC) for 48 hours before, during and
48 hours after installation, or until cured.
E. At the time of application ensure the minimum substrate temperature is above 50ºF (10ºC) and the substrate temperature is 5ºF (3ºC) above the measured dew point.
F. Erect suitable barriers and post legible signs at points of entry to prevent traffic and trades from entering the work area during application and cure period of the floor.
G. Protection of finished floor from damage by subsequent trades shall be the responsibility of the
General Contractor.
1.08 WARRANTY
A. Provide a warranty covering materials and workmanship for a period of [one] year after date of installation.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURER
A. Manufacturer shall be certified under ISO 9001: All liquid materials, including primers, resins, curing agents, finish coats, and sealants are manufactured and tested under an ISO 9001 registered quality system.

2.03 MATERIALS
A. Fluid Applied Epoxy floor (EPX-01): DecoDur Quartz UEF + Flooring, epoxy coating with urethane cement bond.

FDA Jefferson Laboratories 09 6700 - 3 08/09/2022 Building 62 100% Final Construction Documents leveling, solid color, neutral odor, high strength, water based polyurethane cement floor screed system that provides improved thermal shock resistance, excellent chemical, impact and abrasion resistance. 22N PurCem is broadcast to rejection with 30 mesh aggregate, allowed to cure, and subsequent decorative treatment applied. 22n PurCem may utilize an optional waterbased epoxy primer to prevent outgassing.

With preblended colored quartz aggregate. Allow system to cure and then sweep off excess colored quartz aggregate.
B. Sikafloor 217 Receiver Coat with quartz broadcast.
1. Description: Two-component, 100% solids, epoxy coating to be used as broadcast base coat for the decorative quartz.
2. Application Thickness: Apply Sikafloor 217 with squeegee and backroll at approximately
15 mils. Allow material to level and broadcast to rejection with decorative quartz.
C. Sikafloor 217 Epoxy Intermediate Coat(s).
1. Description: Sikafloor217 is a clear two part, epoxy.
2. Application Thickness: Apply Sikafloor 217 at 12-16 mils NOTE: Samples and mockup can determine necessary coverage rates for desired surface texture.
D. Sikafloor 315 Low VOC Aliphatic Urethane finish with wear resistant aggregate.
1. Description: Two-component, high solids, chemical resistant polyurethane used as a tough finish coat in demanding environments.
2. Application Thickness: Apply Sikafloor 315N with 30% to 50% wear additive at 3-5 mils DFT with a high quality roller. Two coats are necessary where VHP is utilized.
2.04 ACCESSORIES
A. Base Caps, and Separator Strips: Match divider strips, with projecting base of 1/8 inch.
1. Provide at all joints between epoxy (resinous aggregate) floor and dissimilar material.
B. Cant Strips: Molded of flooring resin material.
C. Subfloor Filler: White premix latex; type recommended by flooring material manufacturer.
D. Primers and Adhesives: Waterproof; types recommended by flooring manufacturer.
E. Top Cap and Flooring Transition: Schluter Schiene Transition Strip
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that sub-floor surfaces are smooth and flat within the tolerances specified for that type of work and are ready to receive flooring.
B. Verify that wall surfaces are smooth and flat within the tolerances specified for that type of work, are dust-free, and are ready to receive flooring.

C. Verify that sub-floor surfaces are dust-free and free of substances that could impair bonding of materials to sub-floor surfaces.
D. Verify that concrete sub-floor surfaces are ready for flooring installation by testing for moisture emission rate and alkalinity; obtain instructions if test results are not within the following limits:
1. Moisture emission rate: Not greater than 3 lb per 1000 sq ft per 24 hours when tested using calcium chloride moisture test kit for 72 hours.
E. Verify that required floor-mounted utilities are in correct location.
3.02 PREPARATION
A. Remove sub-floor ridges and bumps. Fill low spots, cracks, joints, holes, and other defects with sub-floor filler.
B. Apply, trowel, and float filler to achieve smooth, flat, hard surface. Grind irregularities above the surface level. Shot-blast, if required, to obtain optimum bond to concrete substrate. Prohibit traffic until filler is cured.
C. Vacuum clean substrate.
D. Apply primer to surfaces required by flooring manufacturer.
3.03 INSTALLATION - STRIPS
A. Install cant strips at base of walls where flooring is to be extended up wall as base.
B. Install terminating cap strip at top of base; attach securely to wall substrate.
3.04 INSTALLATION - FLOORING
A. Apply in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Apply each coat to minimum thickness indicated. Provide additional top coat(s) as required to match desired floor texture from approved mock-up sample. Final installed floor shall match mock-up texture and finish.
C. Finish to smooth level surface.
D. Cove at vertical surfaces.
E. Seal perimeter of base cap against wall surface.
3.05 PROTECTION
A. Protect DecoDur Quartz UEF+ Decorative Urethane Cement Flooring System during curing from traffic and chemical spillage. Based on air temperature of 68ºF/20ºC
1. Foot Traffic: 10 –12 hours.
2. Light Traffic: 14 - 16 hours
3. Full Cure: 5 days
