About this file

This is Addendum #1 to a competitive bid solicitation issued by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation Division, for roof restoration work at the Hillside Stone Building located at Onaway State Park in Presque Isle County, Michigan. The project, identified as File No. 751/24248.GAG, was issued by Sanders & Czapski Associates, PLLC on August 20, 2024. The bid deadline remains Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm Eastern Time. A pre-bid conference was held on August 16, 2024, with attendance from Ripman Construction and Coastal Construction Group. The work involves installing new CDX 5/8" plywood sheathing on the roof with an additional layer of 1/8" CDX plywood on top to create a 1 1/8" thick nail base, along with cedar edge boards (1 1/8" thick x 3" wide) to cover the plywood edges. Work cannot commence until after the Fall Harvest Fest on September 27-28, 2024, with typical working hours from 7 am to 7 pm unless otherwise authorized by the park manager.

The contractor will have access to two campsites immediately west of the Hillside Stone Building for staging and vehicles, as well as access to a vault toilet east of the building. The contractor bears full responsibility for snow plowing to access the site during winter and for all snow removal operations required for winter construction activities. The specifications call for wood tapersawn shingles rather than shakes, as clarified in Specification 07 31 29, Paragraph 2.1C. The addendum corrects the DTMB project number on the specifications cover sheet to the accurate designation of 751/24248.GAG.
