About this file

This file consists of construction design and engineering drawings prepared by MacMillan Associates Consulting Engineers for the Department of Natural Resources, specifically for the Wilson State Park Beach House Roof Replacement & Restoration project located in Harrison, Michigan. The project, identified by contract number 751/15248.SMD, involves comprehensive roof framing plans, structural details, and electrical demolition and revision plans dated September 2021 at the 90% design review phase. The scope of work includes the replacement and restoration of the roof structure utilizing wood trusses spaced at 2-foot on-center intervals, roof sheathing installation, timber beam repairs, and post base replacements. The project incorporates structural engineering designs conforming to the 2015 Michigan Building Code, with specified roof snow loads of 34 PSF for sloped roofs, wind uplift design criteria of 115 MPH exposure D, and detailed requirements for dimensional lumber framing, plywood sheathing, and wood truss fabrication by an approved supplier.

The electrical work component encompasses the demolition of existing electrical panels and equipment, installation of new lighting control systems, conduit routing for interior and exterior applications, and branch circuit reconfiguration. The project specifies equipment standards including THHN wiring in EMT conduit for interior spaces and metal rigid conduit for exterior areas, with all work to comply with the 2017 National Electric Code, 2015 Michigan Building Code, and 2017 State of Michigan Electrical Code. The State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Design and Construction Division, under the direction of Adam P. Lach, RA, Director of State Facilities Administration, is overseeing the project. The design firm contact is WTA Architects located in Saginaw, Michigan, with coordinating engineer services from the contact address in Bay City, Michigan.
