About this file

This Scope of Work outlines fish feed supply and delivery requirements for the Nevada State Purchasing Division on behalf of the Department of Wildlife to multiple hatchery locations across Nevada. The contract requires vendors to supply various types of fish feed to four hatchery facilities located in Boulder City, Yerington, Ruby Valley, and Baker. Feed types include fry feeds (starter, #1, and #2), grower feeds (fingerling #3 and #4), production pellets in three sizes (1/16, 3/32, and 1/8 inch), extruded feeds, and Bozeman Razorback Sucker formulations in five mill sizes. Annual requirements vary by location and feed type, with estimated quarterly deliveries ranging from as little as 500 pounds of certain fry feeds to as much as 300,000 pounds of 1/8-inch production pellets at the Yerington location. Load sizes and delivery specifications differ by site: Boulder City requires small loads of 10,000 pounds or more delivered in bags with pallet jack assistance, Yerington requires large loads of 15,000 pounds or more with specialized "stinger" truck delivery into feed towers, Ruby Valley requires large loads of 15,000 pounds or more with capability for both smaller truck and "stinger" truck delivery, and Baker requires medium loads of 10,000 pounds delivered in bags with pallet jack assistance.

Vendors must meet guaranteed minimum nutritional standards throughout the contract term, including 55 percent protein and 17 percent fat for fry feed, 45 percent protein and 16 percent fat for grower feed, 40 percent protein and 14 percent fat for production pellets and extruded feed, and 40 percent protein and 12 percent fat for Bozeman Razorback Sucker formulations. Feed delivery must have lead times of less than one month, and vendors must coordinate directly with individual hatchery managers for scheduling. Any inferior feed—defined as moldy, expired, mixed in size, or of poor quality—must be replaced within five days of delivery. Vendors are required to provide pallet jacks, smaller delivery trucks, or specialized "stinger" trucks as needed based on location requirements, and bagged feed may need to be palletized and wrapped as required. Vendors should also submit descriptions and price lists for other available feed types, such as Steelhead, Brood, and medicated feeds, to support potential future needs.

Scope of Work, Fish Food and Delivery

Summary:

This scope of work outlines the requirements for supplying and delivering fish feed to multiple hatchery locations in Nevada, including Boulder City, Yerington, Ruby Valley, and Baker. Vendors must deliver varying load sizes depending on the location and may need specialized equipment such as pallet jacks, smaller delivery trucks, or “stinger” trucks to unload feed into warehouses, bins, or feed towers. Lead times for feed must typically be less than one month, and vendors must coordinate delivery schedules with individual hatchery managers. Feed may need to be bagged, palletized, and wrapped when required. Any inferior feed—such as feed that is moldy, expired, mixed in size, or of poor quality—must be replaced within five days of delivery. The feed must also meet guaranteed minimum nutritional standards for protein and fat depending on the feed type, including fry, grower, production pellets, extruded feed, and Bozeman Razorback Sucker formulations. Annual feed quantities vary by hatchery and feed type and are typically delivered quarterly, with production pellet feeds making up the largest portion of the total estimated demand. Vendors are also asked to provide descriptions and price lists of other types of feed available, such as Steelhead, Brood, and medicated feeds.

Delivery locations/specifications include:

· Boulder City, NV - Load size is small – 10k pounds and up. Feed is delivered in bags. Vendor must provide pallet jack for unloading into warehouse.

· Yerington, NV – Load size is large – 15k pounds and up. Requires a “stinger” truck for delivery into feed towers.

· Ruby Valley, NV – Load size is large – 15k pounds and up. Requires smaller truck to deliver loads into feed bins. Requires “stinger” truck for delivery into feed towers

· Baker, NV – Load size is medium – 10k pounds. Smaller truck is not required to deliver loads but is suggested. No feed bins, feed must be bagged. Vendor must provide pallet jack for unloading into warehouse.

Vendors must include lead times for food and must be willing to work with the individual hatchery managers for delivery schedules. Typical lead time should be less than 1 month.

Bag food may be required to be palletized and wrapped.

Any inferior feed shall be replaced within five (5) days of delivery. Inferior feed can be defined as, but no limited to, mold, low or poor feed quality, mixed feed sizes. Feed shall be fresh and not expired.

Guaranteed minimum protein levels must be maintained throughout the term of the resultant contract and any subsequent extensions. See minimum protein levels listed below.

Minimum Protein and Fat Requirements:

Fry Feed (Starter, #1 &#2) Minimum 55% protein, 17% fat.

Grower (Fingerling #3 & #4) Minimum 45% protein, 16% fat.
