TITLE:

Preserve EDG Room

QUESTION:

1. Work Item 19 identifies that one roll of electrical matting is to be government furnished. Paragraph 3.3 only directs to prepare and coat the designated deck surface in accordance with SFLC Std. Spec 6310, Appendix B for “Metal Decks – No Application of Deck Coverings”. What is the GFM for? Is the intent to have the electrical matting subsequently installed? Is underlayment required to fair and level the steel deck? If so, the directive to follow Appendix B for “Metal Decks - No application of Deck Coverings” is incorrect and should be revised. Please advise.

1. What deck covering/coatings currently exist in the EDG Room (01-78-3-E)?

RESPONSE:

The mating is to be placed in front of the switch board after the deck is painted. It does not have to be adhered and is not placed throughout the compartment just the approximately 8ft section in front of the switch board. Please see attached photo for clarification.
