About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) section addressing container specifications for a federal contract opportunity.
The government requires Intermodal Storage Units (ISUs) with permanent center walls, tan coloring, and two doors on each side for a total of four doors per container. Tie-downs must be installed on the deck to secure heavy equipment, with the floor equipped with tie-down points as detailed in referenced attachments. The government provided manufacturers with a list of equipment and loading requirements, delegating the design of container enhancements to the manufacturer's engineering team. The manufacturer is responsible for determining the safest and most secure configuration for storage, which may include options such as thick floor plates, rhino-lined floors, wall tie-down points, safety nets, and ramps. Custom configurations for supporting specific gear are referenced in attachments but not detailed in this Q&A document.
