Questions and Answers

The below are questions asked regarding solicitation # 70Z08424Q0000125.

1. Will Government remove and reinstall all furniture and modular furniture?

a. All modular furniture will be removed by a separate, private company and replaced after carpet installation is complete. Other furnishings in the main office area and optional offices will be moved around by office personnel to accommodate carpet installation. Daily communication about plans will be expected. Moving conference room furniture will be contractor’s responsibility.

2. Is Building occupied during construction?

a. Office will be minimally occupied during construction. Access to offices can be arranged around the carpet installation schedule.

3. What is duration of contract?

a. Work must begin by 30 September 2024 and continue until completion of the job,

4. Are there any existing conditions or obstacles, such as damaged subfloors or mold, that may impact the installation process?

a. There is no known mold or damage to subfloors.

5. Could you provide information on the current condition of the existing carpet and baseboards? Are there areas requiring special attention or repair before installation?

a. Existing carpet and baseboards have wear and tear as expected in an office setting.

6. Could you clarify the responsibilities for dismantling, moving, and reinstalling cubicles in the main office? Will coordination with the separate company handling these tasks be necessary?

a. A separate, private company will dismantle, remove, and replace cubicles. A timeline and coordination with the separate company will be necessary.

7. Are there special instructions or precautions for handling conference room furniture?

a. No special instructions for conference room furniture beyond what’s stated in the SOW regarding pictures of condition and responsibility for damage.

8. Could you confirm the required type and brand of adhesives and primers or allow us to propose options meeting the outlined criteria?

a. Contractor will propose options for adhesives and primers that meet the outlined criteria.

9. How will access to the secure space in the front hall be managed during installation? Will Coast Guard personnel be assigned to facilitate this?

a. There is a workspace on the other side of the kitchen that will have to be accessed throughout the duration of the work. There is a secure conference with one entrance in the main hallway and one entrance next to the unsecured conference room; one of these entrances must be accessible throughout the duration of the work.

Communication about changes to accessibility routes for workspace off kitchen, secure space, and adjoining offices is expected.

10. Is there a preferred start date or sequence for completing different sections to minimize disruption to ongoing operations?

a. Work must begin by September 30th. A schedule, including Sequence for completing sections, will be expected from the contractor along with communication about changes to the schedule.

11. Are there specific off-site disposal facilities required for waste materials or can we select a licensed facility?

a. Disposal is the responsibility of the contractor, and must be with a licensed facility

12. What are the criteria for final inspection and acceptance of the work? Will there be a punch list walkthrough with the Contracting Officer?

a. A punch list walkthrough will be completed with the POC and for the final inspection and acceptance of work.
