Question: Sheet C102 Joint repair Keynote 1 designates areas to have joint sealant replaced by multiple arrows pointing to various slabs encompassing a section. Will the government confirm that the extent of the joint sealant shall only go to the widest slab identified and areas outside of these arrows do not need Joint Sealant Replacement?
Answer: Yes, bid the documents
Question: Sheet C103 Keynote the #6 requires the contractor to perform full depth repair under 60 square feet in size. The trench repair shown for the fuel truck apron accessm and utility trench repair measure to be larger than 60 square feet. Will the government confirm that the contractor is to repair a maximum of 60 square feet of concrete in these locations? Or will the government confirm that the contrtactor is to replace to the limits shown on the drawings?
Answer: To repair 60 SF (3 by 20 feet) or 75 SF (3 by 25 feet) IS NOT insignificant in labor and material cost. Labor will take 8 hours to do either and matierial cost is the difference of 1 yard of concrete. The concrete used will be less than the minimum charge of delivery. Hence the total number of concrete delivery will essentially be the same.
Question: Specification section 32 01 19 paragraph 3.3.3 Contract documents state that during joint installation that the joints shall be sandblasted. Per manufacturers recommendations the joints should be water blasted. Will the government confirm that the manufacturers recommendations should be followed and sand blasting will not be required?
Answer: No follow the more stringent of the 2. Specification did not give an option for waterblasting. Note 2 works in conjunction with note 5 sheet C102
Question: In the IFB_18PAT001 PART 1 Section I-2 3052.223-70 it requests certification that contractor is license to perform hazardous substance(s) removal or disposal. We typically subcontract HAZMAT removal/disposal to fully licensed contractors. In addition the drawings and specs do not appear to indicate the removal and disposal of hazardous substances. In the event that HAZMAT licensed is required should it be assumed that licensing can be provided by a qualified subcontractor?
Answer: HazMAT is not noted as being a part of this project. But to answer the question, Yes
